Attack the grizzly bear.
Run from the grizzly bear.
The risk is worth the reward. A meal of fresh meat awaits, and you intend to have it. You growl low and guttural, and you bare your fangs.
The grizzly takes your bait; she continues her charge. At the last instant, you leap out of her path, slashing her side with your claws.
The grizzly whirls and again rushes. And again you do your trick, slashing her side a second time. You are quicker and wiser than your foe. Or so you think.
The grizzly charges a third time, but she has learned her lesson. This time, as you leap and slash, the bear reaches out with her massive paw. Speed is no match for strength. She swats, and you are flung backward.
You slam into a tree with the force of a moving car. You bounce to the ground with a thud. When you try to push yourself up, you find that you cannot move.
The grizzly leaps upon you. You hear a frenzied snarl and see a flash of white teeth. But you feel no pain. You feel nothing at all. And as you close your eyes for the final time, you are grateful, at least, for that.
Try again.
